What is Liam Gallagher’s net worth? Ex-Oasis singer's wealth revealed (2024)

Former Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher has had a busy end of May, not only supporting the Rolling Stones on their No Filter tour and making a moving tribute to the Manchester attack victims, but alsomeeting his estranged daughter Molly Moorish for the first time.

The Live Forever singer has never met his 21-year-old daughter, whom he fathered during a two-year relationship with singer Lisa Moorish, but posted a picture onTwitter of him with Molly and his two sons, Lennon and Gene.

Molly also shared the picture, along with a caption, ‘As you were’, a reference to Gallagher’s debut solo album.

Gallagher also revealed that the anniversary of the Manchester attack inspired him to reconnect with his brother Noel, if only temporarily.

Liam Gallagher recently opened for the Rolling Stones in London on their No Filter tour

Onstage, Gallagher spoke about sending Noel wishes on his 50th birthday joking: 'Well me mam did tell me to do it. Nah she didn't. I swear to God she didn't.'

He then went on to reveal the real reason: 'Nah, I just woke up, you know with all the stuff that went on in Manchester, I woke up and I just thought: "You know what? You know, I'm going there. Happy Birthday."

'And plus, I wanted to remind everyone he's an old fart now. You know, the old 1.6M followers. There were people going like that: "What? he's 50?"

'I was like that: "Indeed. Yes, he is." Especially after his mad party and that. He gotta have a hangover now.'

Here is all you need to know about Liam Gallagher, including his net worth, relationship with brother Noel Gallagher and Oasis career.

Who is Liam Gallagher?

Liam Gallagher was born William John Paul Gallagher on 21 September, 1972 in Burnage, Manchester.

Growing up with brothers Noel and Paul, Gallagher revealed their alcoholic father was abusive to all of them and that the trauma fuelled his musical performances.

The singer also developed an interest in music relatively late, around 16-17.

The band Oasis formed in 1991 after Gallagher joined bassist Paul McGuigan’s band Rain and suggested a name change. Noel joined the band soon after, and bringing with him many songs that he had already worked on.

The band’s first ever gig was at the Boardwalk in Manchester and over the next couple of years they performed live shows before being spotted by Creation Records’ Alan McGee.

The band signed a contract with Sony and released their first single ‘Supersonic’ in April 1994.

In June of that year, the band headlined Glastonbury’s second biggest stage: the NME Stage (now the Other Stage).

With only two singles out at that point and Definitely, Maybe still months away, the band still attracted a massive audience.

When the album was finally released in August, it went straight to No.1 and at the time was the fastest-selling album in the UK.

In 1995, the band’s line-up went through multiple changes. Drummer Tony McCarroll was expelled and replaced with Starclub’s Alan White and Paul McGuigan briefly left in September.

The band’s second album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory was released in October and became a worldwide success, selling nearly five million copies in the UK alone.

Featuring top ten hits such as Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova, the album sold 22 million copies worldwide.

The band’s third offering, Be Here Now, was released in 1997 to much pomp but quickly attracted a critical backlash following underwhelming sales in the US, despite originally selling 424,000 copies in the first day of its release in the UK.

During the aughts, Liam Gallagher and Oasis couldn’t replicate their critical success of the 90s, although the albums Heathen Chemistry, Don’t Believe the Truth and Dig Your Soul Out did feature Top Ten singles such as Lyla, The Importance of Being Idle and Let There Be Love.

In 2009 Oasis split after an incident in Paris involving Gallagher and his brother Noel.

Two hours after the band cancelled their Rock en Seine gig, Noel posted a statement on the band’s website saying: ‘It is with some sadness and great relief...I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.’

Following the dissolution of Oasis, Gallagher formed his Beady Eye band, releasing two albums, Different Gear, Still Speeding and BE, between 2009-2014.

In 2017, Gallagher made a surprise appearance at the One Love Manchester attack tribute concert and subsequently released his debut solo album, As You Were, which hit No.1 on the UK charts and received positive reviews.

In May 2018, Liam Gallagher opened for The Rolling Stones and paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester attack.

Liam and Noel Gallagher’s relationship

Liam Gallagher’s career has been defined as much by his complex relationship with his brother Noel as by Oasis’s success.

The brothers first feuded as band mates in 1994, when Liam hit Noel over the head with a tambourine.

While they frequently reconciled, famous showdowns such as the ones in Barcelona in 2000, Japan in 2002, and 2005 interview mind games have become as much part of the Oasis legend as the music itself.

Liam Gallagher and his brother Noel famously feuded constantly during their time in Oasis

In 2009, months before quitting the band, Noel Gallagher described Liam as: ‘Rude, arrogant, intimidating, and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.’

The feuding continued long after Oasis split, with Liam describing Noel’s High Flying Birds band as ‘High Flying Turds'.

After Noel didn’t appear at the One Love concert, Liam blasted his brother saying it wasn’t meant to be about a reunion, but rather about helping other people out.

Even as late as January 2018, Liam and Noel continued to feud, with Liam mocking Noel for his lack of BRIT Awards nominations. In March, Liam comparedNoel and his wife to the serial killers Fred and Rosemary West.

So the creepy 1 gets blanked at the Brits oh well was looking forward to hurling abuse at him and his poshos from across the room LG x

Liam Gallagher's daughter Molly Moorish

In 1998, Liam had a daughter, Molly Moorish, with singer Lisa Moorish. However, in a 2017 interview with GQ, Gallagher revealed that he had never met her.

'The kid I haven't seen. We'll see one day, but, no, not seen her. But if I met her, she'd be cool. She's welcome in my world and that, you know what I mean? Without a doubt,' he said.

Liam went on to explain that he never met Molly because he and her mother 'don't work. We don't get on'.

'The girl's been looked after and clothed and fed and sent to lovely schools. I bought them a house and all that tack. I just think she's best off with her mum,' he added.

However, Molly appeared to be close to her uncle, Noel, with Molly's mother even sharing a photo on Instagram of them together back in 2017, with a caption that said: 'Uncle Noel. Belated celebrations soon! '

On May 23, Liam posted an Instagram photo of him with Molly and his two other children, Lennon and Gene. Molly also shared the photo of her with Liam on Instagram, along with the caption 'As you were', referring to Liam's debut solo album.

Liam Gallagher's children

As well as Molly, Liam Gallagher has three other kids: Lennon Gallagher from his marriage to Patsy Kensit; Gene Gallagher from his second marriage to Nicole Appleton, and Gemma Gallagher from his brief relationship with the New York Times journalist, Liza Ghorbani.

While Liam has now met Molly, he has nevermet Gemma.

Liam Gallagher's net worth is estimated to be $7.5 million (£5.6m), according to Celebrity Net Worth.
