Katy Perry is on fire.
The 30-year-old kicked off her Super Bowl halftime performance by wearing a dress with a flaming design as she rode a massive metallic tiger into the field.
She then took the stage with backup dancers dressed as chess pieces before Lenny Kravitz arrived with his electric guitar to accompany the superstar as she performed a mashup of her greatest hits.

Twerking: Katy Perry kicked off her Super Bowl halftime performance by twerking with Lenny Kravitz who accompanied her on electric guitar
The pop princess backed up against Kravitz, 50, as she rubbed up against him while he riffed on his steel strings. The suave rocker sported a leather jacket and dark sunglasses as they switched from Perry's hit Roar to I Kissed A Girl.
Katy swapped out her sparkly booties and flaming dress for a star-studded silver gown as she shifted from singing I Kissed A Girl to Firework. The costume change also saw her riding an entirely new contraption.
The dark haired beauty was suspended high in the air as she belted out the tune while fireworks exploded behind her giving the illusion that the pyrotechnics were propelling her forward.

She then made good on her promise earlier in the week to have sharks and tigers in her show as when she underwent another costumed change she was joined by costumed underwater predators.
The change saw her move onto another hit California Gurls as she wore a multi-coloured mini dress as a large group of women danced behind her.
She was also joined by special guest Missy Elliot. The icon belted out Get Ur Freak On as Perry danced next to her. The 90s breakthrough showed off impressive dancing skills as she jumped up and down the stage.

It was widely rumored that Elliott would be joining Perry at the Super Bowl as a surprise guest so in the end it was not much of a surprise.

Meanwhile, prior to her performance Katy made a cheeky joke about the controversy surrounding the Patriots allegedly using deflated balls during their playoff game at the NFL press conference at the Phoenix Convention Center on Thursday.
'I can assure you that nothing in my performance will be deflated,' she said.
She is going to entertain perhaps her largest audience yet as the extravaganza is expected to draw a whopping 115 million viewers -- or about one in three Americans -- and amounts to an unofficial holiday in the United States, where even those with no interest in the sport gather at countless Super Bowl parties.

And as she geared up for her halftime performance at football's biggest game, Katy Perry went down memory lane posting a throwback photo from her childhood days on her Twitter account on Sunday.
'Today is for this girl,' the pop star captioned the snap commenting on how her big dream of performing for millions is finally becoming reality.
'She had the dream, always believed in herself & her worth. Today she is the one smiling (sic),' she wrote to her 64.3m followers.

It also shows her natural blonde locks in a half up/down hairstyle as she puts on a show at a local talent show.
'Today is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!' Katy wrote in a separate tweet on Sunday.
During NBC's Super Bowl pre-show, Katy sat down for a pre-recorded interview with anchor Josh Elliott.
'Thinking about the little girl inside of me that had a dream and not letting herself down,' she shared when asked about what it feels like to be this year's halftime headliner.
