What is a mini Flexi clip, and what can you do with it?
The Flexi mini hair clip is the smallest of the seven sizes that the Lilla Rose Flexi Clips come in. It is also called size XXS. It comes in many beautiful colors and styles.
Many people think the Flexi Mini is just for toddlers, little girls, or those with super fine or thin hair...
While the Mini is indeed PERFECT for all of these situations, this mini hair clip can actually be used by anyone, even those who have thick hair like I do.
In this video tutorial, I'll be showing you hairstyles that anyone can do with a Mini Flexi.
How much hair can a mini flexi hold?
If you have a ponytail the circumference the size of a U.S. dime, you could wear a Mini (size XXS) in your ponytail or tails up. The Mini also has four notches on it, which gives you a surprising amount of flexibility (no pun intended).
If you have thick hair like me, you can still use the mini Flexi, which means no matter what style of hair you have (fine, medium, or thick) you absolutely can use the mini Flexi.
Now I'll show you 7 super cute hairstyles, step-by-step, with pictures, that you can create with a Flexi Mini, no matter what type of hair you have.
1. Bangs Back Hairstyle
Bangs back is a great style if you want to get your hair off of your face, or if your bangs have been growing out and getting a little bit unruly.
Step 1: Pull your bangs back
Pull however much of your hair you want to get out of your face, back over the top of your head.
You can even push this hair forward a little bit if you want a little bit of height to your hair.
Step 2: Run The Pin Along Your Scalp
Next, simply take the pin of the Flexi and run it along your scalp underneath the hair you are holding back.
Next, have the pin come out the other side of your hair and into the opposite loop of the Flexi clip. That's it!
2. Top Back Hairstyle
A second popular style is just pulling part of your hair back at the top. You might not even have bangs, but you can still use this style to get your hair back out of your way.
Step 1: Pull Your Hair Back
Simply pull the hair back on your head that you would like to secure, and then hold it in place with one hand.
Step 2: Run Pin Along The Scalp
With your other hand, take the pin and run it along your scalp until the pin comes out the other side of your hair, and then secure it in the opposite loop of the hair clip.
3. Sides Back Hairstyle
This is great for pulling the hair on the sides of your head back out of your way.
Step 1: Pull side hair back
Just pull back the hair on the side of your head that you would like secured in place.
Step 2: Run Pin along the scalp
Once again, you just take the pin and run it along the scalp under the hair you would like secured, and then secure the end of the pin in the opposite loop of the hair clip.
4. Side Ponytail Hairstyle
This is another great style you can do with a mini hair clip.
Step 1: Braid Your Hair Down One Side of your head
Take all of your hair, and braid it down one side of your head.
Step 2: secure it with a mini Hair Clip
Once you have your hair braided and in place how you want it, all you have to do is easily secure it in place with a mini Flexi hair clip.
5. Half-Up Half-Down Hairstyle
Normally, I use a size small Flexi hair clip when I do the Half-Up Half-Down, but if I'm going to use a mini, then I just need to use less hair. Instead of pulling as much hair back as I normally would, I just take a little less.
Step 1: Pull Hair Back
Pull back the hair you'd like to secure, and then hold in place with one hand.
Step 2: Run Mini Hair Clip Under The Hair
Put the pin in under the hair you are holding in place, and then secure the pin in the opposite loop on the other side with the mini hair clip.
6. Half-Up Half-Down Twist Hairstyle
The half-up half-down twist is a cute, yet easy way to dress up a regular half-up.
Step 1: Twist the hair back
Simply roll or twist your hair up, and then pull it back behind you head, holding it in place with one hand.
Step 2: Secure with a clip
Next, take a mini hair clip and run it under your hair and out the other side, securing it in place through the opposite loop of the clip.
7. Bun Hairstyle
What? Really? You can use a mini with a bun? Absolutely!
Normally you might use a larger clip to secure a bun, but in this final style, I'll show you how you can actually use a mini Flexi clip to hold a bun.
Step 1: Take your hair in a ponytail
First, take your hair into a ponytail, and then start to twist.
Step 2: Twist your hair around to make a bun
Twist your ponytail completely around until you have a bun.
Step 3: Run The Pin Along the top part of the pun
Finally, take a mini Flexi clip and put it in on the top part of the pun. Secure the pin on the other side of the bun in the opposite loop of the clip.
